So On1 Photo Raw lets you work and switch back and forth between the catalogue and the hard disk very easily! <strong>On this point it's a hydric<\/strong> \ud83d\ude05 ! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-51cda16\" id=\"d\" data-block-id=\"51cda16\"><h3 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">DxO PhotoLab<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\"><strong>DxO PhotoLab<\/strong> works directly on the folders on your hard disk. So no time is wasted cataloguing, but when you browse your photo folders, DxO PhotoLab creates an index of your images, by metadata, exif, keywords etc... Which means that without prior cataloguing, <strong>it has an \"internal table of contents<\/strong> It is self-managed and when a search request is made, it is intelligent and will retrieve all the images requested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-9bac206\" id=\"d\" data-block-id=\"9bac206\"><h3 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Capture One (C1)<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Capture One (C1) is another story, because <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">you have 2 work options<\/span> traditional cataloguing or session cataloguing.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">A bit like On1 Photo Raw, which has this ambivalence but <strong>Capture One will work either in a catalogue or as a session.<\/strong> <strong>You will need to choose<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">The session is perfect for a project, model or wedding shoot, and once that job is done, you can archive your session on an archive hard drive or import that session into a C1 catalogue to centralise all your sessions so you can browse all your files more easily later. Note that you can create and open as many catalogues or sessions as you like (at least, as many as your computer will support \ud83e\udd13 ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Please note: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragonstreetphotography.net\/cyme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Now that we have meta-cataloggers such as Peakto<\/a> This means you can centralise all your sessions and hard drives under a single interface, without eating up too much space on your working disk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragonstreetphotography.eu\/en\/how-to-organize-your-photos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">To help you organise your images, I invite you to read this dedicated article<\/a> because that would make this one far too long! \ud83e\udd13 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragonstreetphotography.eu\/en\/photo-workflow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">And my workflow in this article.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-72837d4\" data-block-id=\"72837d4\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Organising your files efficiently is the first step in ensuring smooth, structured post-production.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-c1ef413\" id=\"3-strong-developpement-de-vos-images-strong\" data-block-id=\"c1ef413\"><style>.stk-c1ef413 .stk-block-heading__bottom-line{background-color:var(--theme-palette-color-2, #a6003c  ) !important;}<\/style><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">3. <strong>Developing your images<\/strong><\/h2><div class=\"stk-block-heading__bottom-line\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Once you have organised your files, these 3 programs offer a suite of powerful tools for correcting and improving your photos. Then adjust the shadows, blacks, whites and highlights and finish by adjusting the colours individually with the TSL tool. <strong>I advise you to work in this order<\/strong> because adjusting the light tones will modify the colours, which then means adjusting their luminance and saturation. T<strong>ll of the software programmes mentioned above allow you to make these precise adjustments using dynamic sliders.<\/strong><\/span><\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-stackable-icon-list-item stk-block-icon-list-item stk-block stk-367143a\" data-block-id=\"367143a\"><div class=\"stk-block-icon-list-item__content\"><span class=\"stk--svg-wrapper\"><div class=\"stk--inner-svg\"><svg aria-hidden=\"true\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\"><use xlink:href=\"#stk-icon-list__icon-svg-def-a6d53d2\"><\/use><\/svg><\/div><\/span><span class=\"stk-block-icon-list-item__text\"><strong>Crop and balance the horizon of your photos.<\/strong><\/span><\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-stackable-icon-list-item stk-block-icon-list-item stk-block stk-b1a3ef6\" data-block-id=\"b1a3ef6\"><div class=\"stk-block-icon-list-item__content\"><span class=\"stk--svg-wrapper\"><div class=\"stk--inner-svg\"><svg aria-hidden=\"true\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\"><use xlink:href=\"#stk-icon-list__icon-svg-def-a6d53d2\"><\/use><\/svg><\/div><\/span><span class=\"stk-block-icon-list-item__text\"><strong>Noise Reduction<\/strong> Digital noise: Images taken in low-light conditions can contain digital noise. The noise reduction modules in each of the software packages help to clean up images while preserving important details. <strong>The weakest here is Capture One, which does not have advanced noise reduction like On1 Photo Raw or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">DxO PhotoLab excels in this area.<\/span><\/strong> If you use Capture One, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragonstreetphotography.net\/dxo-pureraw-4-ca-dechire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">you can use the DxO Pure Raw plugin<\/a> <\/strong>(which works as a stand-alone program) to prepare your images from a technical point of view (correction of optical distortions, chromatic aberrations, sharpness, vignetting and noise) before continuing with C1.<\/span><\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-stackable-icon-list-item stk-block-icon-list-item stk-block stk-306d74f\" data-block-id=\"306d74f\"><div class=\"stk-block-icon-list-item__content\"><span class=\"stk--svg-wrapper\"><div class=\"stk--inner-svg\"><svg aria-hidden=\"true\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\"><use xlink:href=\"#stk-icon-list__icon-svg-def-a6d53d2\"><\/use><\/svg><\/div><\/span><span class=\"stk-block-icon-list-item__text\"><strong>Objective correction<\/strong> Correct distortion and chromatic aberration with the built-in tools. <strong>DxO PhotoLab offers advanced, scientifically developed correction profiles (via the optical modules) for a wide variety of lenses<\/strong>, <strong>guaranteeing unparalleled sharpness and precision<\/strong>.
