These timeless figures, from Steve McCurry to Sebasti\u00e3o Salgado, from Elliott Erwitt to Dorothea Lange, have left their mark on our collective gaze. Their images remain with us, sometimes even intimidating us. But can they also inspire us without making us doubt?<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-01628ef\" data-block-id=\"01628ef\"><style>.stk-01628ef {margin-bottom:50px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">As a travel and nature photographer, I have often felt this tension: <strong>between learning from the best and the difficulty of maintaining my own vision<\/strong>. He taught me that <strong>photography isn't about running, it's about listening<\/strong>, <strong>patience, meditation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">These days, when I travel, I take my time. I sit down. I breathe in. And I wait for the scene to reveal itself. I remove rather than add. I let the light, the shadows and the silences breathe. His vision of black and white, his technical rigour with his famous \"zone system\" taught me that it was not enough to be a photographer.<strong>a powerful image comes from a detailed understanding of light<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Adams left nothing to chance. He would preview the final image as soon as the shot was taken. His sense of intuitive composition, his ability to capture the energy of a place, inspired me to&nbsp;<strong>trust my instincts<\/strong>.<strong> <\/strong>It shows us that \" <strong>technical perfection is only meaningful when it serves the moment\".<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">In my improvised street scenes during my travels, I remember him. And I try to frame not what I see, but what I see.&nbsp;<strong>feel in the moment<\/strong> and develop my own instincts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">\ud83c\udfaf&nbsp;<em>Flash exercise :<\/em>&nbsp;practise your photography by setting a 3-second limit for the shutter release. This will eventually sharpen your visual intuition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-692d732\" id=\"6-strong-etre-fidele-a-sa-lumiere-interieure-strong-a-href-https-fr-wikipedia-org-wiki-dorothea-lange-target-blank-rel-noreferrer-noopener-la-verite-de-dorothea-lange-a\" data-block-id=\"692d732\"><style>.stk-692d732 .stk-block-heading__bottom-line{background-color:var(--theme-palette-color-2, #a6003c  ) !important;}<\/style><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">6. <strong>Being faithful to your inner light<\/strong> : <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dorothea_Lange\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the truth about Dorothea Lange<\/a><\/h2><div class=\"stk-block-heading__bottom-line\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Dorothea Lange captured misery and pain, but also dignity, with an inimitable human light. She taught me that <strong>authenticity takes precedence over aesthetics<\/strong>. Once again, we realise that feeling must guide what we photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">In a world saturated with images, I try to get back to basics: <strong>what this place does to me, what this face tells me, what I want to share<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-subtitle stk-block-subtitle stk-block stk-10f9316\" data-block-id=\"10f9316\"><style>.stk-10f9316 {margin-bottom:50px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-subtitle__text stk-subtitle\">\ud83d\udd4a\ufe0f <em>Food for thought :<\/em> After a photo shoot, write down in a few words what you felt. Let this emotion guide your final selection and post-production.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-65f5a58\" id=\"7-strong-trouver-sa-voie-dans-ce-tumulte-visuel-strong\" data-block-id=\"65f5a58\"><style>.stk-65f5a58 .stk-block-heading__bottom-line{background-color:var(--theme-palette-color-2, #a6003c  ) !important;}<\/style><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">7. <strong>Finding your way in this visual tumult<\/strong><\/h2><div class=\"stk-block-heading__bottom-line\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">If you keep admiring these great photographers, you risk losing yourself. But what I've learnt is that <strong>great photographers don't want disciples, they want heirs<\/strong>. Photographers <strong>who go their own way<\/strong>enlightened by those who came before them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">My voice is sometimes discreet, but it's mine. It's built up from influences, failures \ud83d\ude29 and flashes of inspiration. And that's what I share through my images: a fragile but true sincerity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-858908e\" data-block-id=\"858908e\"><style>.stk-858908e {margin-bottom:50px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">\u2728 <em>Personal exercise :<\/em> Select ten of your favourite photos and ask yourself: what do they have in common? Conclusion: learn from the great photographers, but create in your own way<\/h2><div class=\"stk-block-heading__bottom-line\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">The great photographers inspire me. But they don't dictate my vision. What I try to retain from them are not recipes, but ideas. <strong>attitudes to the world<\/strong> patience, respect, simplicity and commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">And at the end of the day, what you have to say with your images is <strong>unpublished<\/strong>. No photographer, however great, has experienced what you have. And it's this unique experience that your photos can reveal. That's why we all have our place, and our path to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">So follow in their footsteps... but never forget to listen to your own footsteps, and stay in your own light \ud83e\uddd8\ud83c\udffc.
